I haven’t done an Alley Food post in a long time! Mostly because I’ve been too crazy busy to join Husband on his bowling ventures. But this week after Aria’s basketball practice, I was in no mood for cooking or putting too much thought into dinner. So we met up with Vince at his weekly league tournament.
I’ve written about Whitewood Lanes before because that’s where Vince bowls most of the time. Check out that post HERE.
I was really in the mood for a good ol’ fashioned cheeseburger. Whitewood Lanes is totally a top contender for that! The combos run a little under $10 and includes a medium drink and a generous portion of fries. Aria wasn’t starving and only wanted fries, so we split the ones that came in the combo.

I was hungry, so I didn’t take a good photo of the insides of my burger before cutting into it. But I must point out that they hooked me up with 2 big slices of cheese and lots of veggies! Seriously, the entire bottom was a nice bed of pickles! And I LOVE onions! So it was nice to have plenty of those with every bite. The burger was a pretty good size and I couldn’t eat the whole thing even though I really wanted to! I don’t know about you, but I love it when they place the burger buns on the grill to absorb the greasy goodness and crisp up a little bit. Muah-ha-ha! Talk about goodness!

Now let’s talk about these fries. I consider myself to be very picky with fries. I usually like super crispy, thin fries. I like them well seasoned and flavorful. Whitewood has some very special fries. I’m not sure if they’re double-fried or battered, but look at them! These fries check all the boxes of the things I love in my fried potatoes. I could seriously make a meal out of these fries alone. They’re so yummy!

If you haven’t made it out to Whitewood Lanes in Lubbock, TX lately, you might want to check it out. They’ve done so many renovations! The place is looking really spiffy and of course the staff is always wonderful. Like I’ve said before, it’s a great place for a family outing. Best of all, it’s an affordable and local activity for all. The grown-ups can have a drank and the kiddos can have awesome grill yummies, all while enjoying some bonding time in a sport meant for all ages.
Smoochies!
