The summer has officially come to an end. What I thought would be a quiet summer turned out to be a few weeks of reconnection and it was really nice.

I reconnected with people that it’s not that we lost touch, but we’ve just been busy with life. We’re all working on our own projects and goals. We still keep track of each other as much as possible and root for all the good things. So we got to actually hang out and catch up. I didn’t realize how much my little soul needed it until it all actually happened!
Husband and I got to spend lots of quality time together. While Aria didn’t have sports or school commitments, she went to spend time at my Mom’s house in New Mexico. Everyone knows we love our child more than anything in the world! But having a few opportunities for both of us to go to a bar and hang out with friends is not something we get to do often. During the school year, if we hang out with friends, it’s usually just one of us because the other is on parent duty.

And of course, having the opportunity to take a couple of trips to spend time with family is always the best! In June we got to travel to Puerto Vallarta with my oldest brother and his sweet family. It was an epic adventure!

Then, we closed off the summer with a quick trip to visit our family in New Jersey.

Now we’re back to the grind where our lives revolve around Aria and her schedule. Basketball will be a little different for her this year. Thankfully, she’ll be back with last year’s coach and most of her team. She’s starting to work on her science dreams in a new school. I was a little sad that she had to start wearing a uniform instead of her usual stylin’ and profilin’ outfits. But she still looks super cute in her uniforms. She’s really excited for this new path!
So, if your kiddo is starting a new school year, I’m sending them all the good vibes for a great and safe year! For all you parents, let’s rock this! Let me know if you need a beer break.

We watch the season pull up its own stakes
And catch the last weekend of the last week
Before the gold and the glimmer have been replaced
Another sun-soaked season fades away
You have stolen my heart
