Much like every creative to ever exist, I’m suffering from a mad brain block. I’ll start a project, get stuck, and just leave it. I leave the project where I can come across it every day to remind me to get back to it. Instead, I just live with the shame of the project giving me a guilt stare for not coming up with a way to finish it. And then I hate on myself for not being more dedicated. I know I shouldn’t do that, but it happens.

The year before last, I started writing a story. I quickly wrote the first 20 pages that included some of the main points of the story. I’ve been going back to it here and there, but I’ve gotten to the point that I’m not sure where else to go with it.
At the end of last year, I got an idea for another story. I got down and dirty and wrote narratives for my characters. And then I just left it there.
And last month, I learned a way to do a really cool craft project. It’s something I could probably put up on my Etsy shop. I went and bought the stuff, taught myself how to do it, and then didn’t touch it anymore. Why am I this way?!?!

Last month I had to travel for a work trip. I made sure to give myself a little time to go find some inspiration. I didn’t get any ideas to finish any of my projects.
Instead, I got a bit of a reality check. My little excursion gave me some peace. It helped remind me that nothing is created overnight. Even God didn’t create the universe in 2 seconds.
So I moved some of my projects to my cloud. That way, if I find myself having a brilliant idea, I can jot it down immediately on whatever gadget I have available at the moment. Not the most traditional way to write, but what the hell? Technology was created to make our lives more convenient, so I’m gonna’ use it!

The truth is, I’ve got a lot going on at the moment. Grad school is not easy. It’s currently taking up a lot of my time and brain space because I want to do really good in it. A long time ago, God and I made a deal – He gives me the strength and I keep going. Simple, right?
So with that said, if you have any ideas or even just good vibes for me, send them my way. They are much appreciated! Smoochies!
