Jobs Are Like Boys

For years I’ve been saying, “Jobs are like boyfriends” – If you’re not happy with the one you’ve got, dump his ass. Hence, why I’ve never stayed at a job more than 5 years.

Anyways, I’m not sure exactly what’s going on, but the past few months I’ve been getting all sorts of people asking me to go interview with them or apply for jobs. And I’m like, “Oh, hell nah!”

Here’s the thing, not too long ago, I couldn’t get anyone to give me a shot if my life depended on it. Now, these people are losing the “hot chick” they chose over me. And just like any boy, now they’re coming around and want all my attention. I’m just over here rolling my eyes.

You see, I’ve had some awesome bosses in the past, but no one has ever fought for me the way my current boss has. In the year and a half I’ve been there, he’s already battled for me twice. And I totally appreciate that. I find myself in a really good place. I’ve got all the support in the world when it comes to my advancement. That is NOT easy to find. I don’t have any plans to go anywhere.

So to all the other boys, sorry about ya’. You had your chance.
