Everyone always asks, “Why does the villain have to be so evil?”
No one asks, “What happened to the villain to make her be this way?”
Most times, the villain was once a good person who was wronged, mistreated, and hurt. The villain was so broken she had no choice but to take all her power and fight back in order to survive. The power that could’ve been used for good, became a weapon of protection.
The “good” people only see the evil that was done to them. They don’t take responsibility for their part in creating the villain.
No one asks about the villain, “How was that heart destroyed to make her not want to open it anymore?”
