We went to Vegas. It was awesome!
I love going to Las Vegas every chance I get. It’s always changing and it’s like a giant playground for grown-ups. It’s cheap to travel to and stay there. If you know where to go, it’s also cheap to eat, drink and play there.
This time I just wanted to hang out with my husband and enjoy him all to myself. We were celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary and his 40th Birthday.

As soon as we got there, we checked into our room at The Linq. This has become one of our favorite places to stay. It’s low-priced, and right in the middle of the Strip. And one of the best parts, it’s right next to a Tilted Kilt. They have awesome food there!

During one of our previous trips, we noticed a little hole-in-the-wall place that advertised $3 Coronas and $1 hot dogs. We checked it out and sure enough, they had $3 Coronas and $1 hot dogs. Since this time we were just taking it easy on our first night, we returned to this little bar for cheap beers. Once there I learned this bar is called the Stage Door Casino. It’s more bar than casino, but whatevs. It’s a chill place to end the night.

The next day, we ventured out for a little shopping and exploring.

Before heading to our next adventure, we pregamed at Yard House for Happy Hour. This is one of those Vegas insider deals. They have cheap appetizers (big enough to make a meal out of) and cheap beers from like 3-6pm. Our lovely friend Gina joined us for the fun.
Afterwards, we got to go to the new Meow Wolf installation in Vegas. It’s called Omega Mart. It’s inside an artsy area called Area 15. The whole thing is just way cool!

Omega Mart was this perfect mixture of snarky and beautiful all at once. I had so much fun playing with things and going down the slides. The whole place is so interactive and the artists paid so much attention to all details.

After getting our fill of artsy fun, we went over to one of our fave hangouts, the Carnaval Court. I love going there because they usually have live music and it’s a chill place to have a few drinks.

For Vince’s actual birthday, we started off at the pool. This is one of the reasons we like staying at The Linq. The pool is one of the chillest spots ever. And you can’t beat the awesome view of the High Roller in the back.

After the pool, we headed out to the Miracle Mile. We went to a little restaurant called Oceans One. This place is another one of those hidden Vegas deals. Every entree on the menu is $5. Drinks are pretty cheap too.

Vince had a cheeseburger, fries and a beer. I had some chicken pasta veggie dish with a Bloody Mary. All was yummy and less than $30 for the whole bill.

Vince got his fill of Raider Nation. I was hoping to get into a fancy tour of the new stadium, but they weren’t doing tours while we were in town. So we had to settle for visiting the team shop. We went to the store in the Miracle Mile and the next day we went out to the stadium. Even though we didn’t get an official tour, we got to peek at the stadium and scope out where we’ll be buying seats next year.

Our friend Gina invited us to drinks at the Vanderpump Garden. I have no idea exactly who these Vanderpump people are. I just know they’re reality show people.

The whole place was really pretty! The drinks were a bit pricey for my liking ($18 each), but they were really tasty! Unfortunately, our waitress wasn’t the nicest. But going to this place was such a Vegas experience and it was nice to do something different.

After fancy drinks, Vince and I headed to Fremont. We figured we could find some yummy eats in old Vegas.
Now, I’ve been going to Las Vegas on the regular since I was 21 years old. This was the first time I actually went to Fremont. It was awesome!

We headed to the new casino on Fremont named Circa. As we passed by Victory Burger, it smelled and looked so good. We shared a pound of wings and the best waffle fries ever! Victory Burger is totally on my recommendation list! And it was not too pricey.

By the end of our trip, we were exhausted. We drank a lot, ate yummy food and took in lots of Vegas awesomeness! It’s always nice to visit this crazy playground. I insist everyone should visit Las Vegas at least once in their life. BUT…if you’re not crawling back to the airport at the end, you didn’t do Vegas right!
