A Good Day In A Good City

Every Saturday Aria has basketball practice or a game, so that takes up most of our morning. But last Saturday was a very busy day for these Texas Alexanders.

Besides our morning basketball routine, Texas Tech Athletics held a kid’s sports clinic at their basketball complex. It was held in celebration of National Girls & Women in Sports Day, which is recognized on February 1st. They had multiple sports activities with many of the campus female athletes leading them. It was so fun! Most of Aria’s basketball teammates got to be there as well.

Future Lady Red Raider?

Most of her basketball teammates were there too.

We were tired, but always super supportive parents for our kiddo!

At the end of the clinic, each child was gifted a ticket to the Women’s basketball game and an event T-shirt. I love that they took into consideration that most of the attendees were small children, so they had shirts available in kid size.

Miss Aria is the coolest person I know!

After the sports clinic, we got to cheer on our beloved Lady Red Raiders at the basketball game. It was nice to see most of the kiddos who attended the sports clinic were at the game as well.

Game day snuggles!

Her Daddy caught a shirt at the game for her. She was way excited about it!

After the game, my little familia went home and we took a tiny nap. When we woke up, we went out to pick up dinner. As we drove across town, I was telling Vince how I felt so fortunate to live in a city like Lubbock. When I was growing up, I never had opportunities to do awesome activities like what Aria got to do that afternoon. She has so many amazing opportunities available to her.

Honestly, since we moved here, I can’t remember ever feeling bored out of my mind. This city is small, but there’s always stuff to do or something going on. If we want to go to a sporting event, a movie, concert, restaurant, or whatever, the options are there. Even on occasions we don’t want to spend money, there are always free events in art, music, and festivities, along with countless parks and so many other activities.

I seriously love living in this little city. I’m happy we get to raise our baby girl here. Lubbock is home.
